Event 1005 Connectivity (SETP, SSL, syslog)

SETP Session Cannot Be Initiated (Event 1005)

The product could not open a SETP session to the configured server. This error is logged only once until the condition changes; event 1012 indicates recovery.

What to check

  • Verify server name or IP address and port in the Send SETP action match the SETP listener on the receiver.
  • If using a hostname, confirm DNS resolution from the sending machine.
  • Ensure the SETP receiver service is running and reachable (test with telnet or similar on the SETP port).
  • Check firewalls and SSL/TLS settings if the session is encrypted.
  • Read any "Additional Information" line in the Windows event for the underlying connection error.
